About the Symposium

The Genetic Programming and Evolutionary Machine Learning (GPEML) Symposium focuses on the cutting-edge theories and applications of Genetic Programming (GP) and Evolutionary Machine Learning (EML). With the rapid advancement of computational intelligence, GP and EML have demonstrated tremendous potential in automated program generation, feature engineering, explainable AI, evolutionary deep learning, and other emerging fields. The forum gathers leading experts and scholars worldwide to discuss the latest research advances, key technologies, and practical applications of GP and EML.

Goals

Promote research and applications of Genetic Programming and Evolutionary Machine Learning as well as collaborations in GPEML in China
Promote international collaborations between Chinese GPEML researchers and international innovative researchers
Develop postgraduate research students and early career researchers to undertake research and applications in GPEML

Scope

Focus on research and applications on GPEML with the following major aspects:

Genetic programming (GP), including all paradigms and representations of GP such as TGP, LGP, Grammar Guided GP (G3P), Cartesian GP, and any other EC paradigms that can evolving non-predefined models; theories and applications of GP
Evolutionary machine learning (EML), including using any evolutionary computation methods and techniques to help solve any machine learning tasks; and machine learning methods to help solve/improve any EC methods and applications
Encourage the hybridization of EML methods and generative AI/LLMs

Distinguish this symposium from existing Evolutionary Computation conferences and workshops. The pure optimization methods and applications, e.g., EC for numeric continuous optimization testing on benchmarks would be very well beyond the scope.
